Unlike any other village in any of the surrounding areas Umuofia, Umuofia had twelve egwugwa sprits representing each tribe. This was the supreme judges of all the village of Umuofia. If there was any situation to hard for the officials of Umuofia to handle, they send them to the twelve representing tribe leaders, and Judges.
There was so much respect for the twelve representing spirits of the tribes. The Evil Forest represents the village of Umueru, or the children of Eru. There were significant amounts of praises and honor being presented to the twelve spirits. The Evil Forest represented the end of the world, and total darkness flooded the sky at night time.

There was once a story about a bird which had a lot of meaning behind it. The bird name was Tortoise. This particular bird didn’t have no wings as most birds did. He heard of a upcoming feast that he was so desiring to attend, but he had no wings to get there.
So Tortoise gathered the fellow birds up and explained how he was a changed bird. So the birds all agreed to each give him a wing so that he can create two wings. When the feast of the sky arrived Tortoise went happily with the all the other birds. So lustfully at majority of the food, and the fellow birds all grumbled under their breath. Pretty soon Tortoise was so stuffed that he couldn’t even move.

Loud noises of drums and other noises blasted through the evening to declare that someone was dead. It was a big alarm and pretty socking that Ezedu was dead. Last time Okonkwo saw Ezedu was when he told him not to spare a hand in the death of the young lad. It very much grieved Okonkwo heart to figure out that this man was door knob dead.
While attending the funeral of Ezedu Okonkwo accidently killed Ezeuda. Ezeuda innocent blood lay up in a puddle of blood which cried uncontrollably. This was a horrible act and if any man was to kill he had to flee for his life for a good amount of years before he can return to the clan. So Okonkwo fled to his motherland.
