Okonkwo and all the women in his compound were inside the hunt preparing the evening feast that was set for dawn. Okonkwo then decided it will be a good time to go outside with his son and do some harvesting labor. It was a normal day like all other days in the village of Umuofia. Then in a twinkling of an eye darkness covered the city like darkness covers space.
It looked like rain was about to shower down in a fierce and hostile way. Then a thought ran dangerously through Okonkwo wandering mind. It looked like darkness has covered the whole Umuofia village, but the thunderous sounds of citizen’s impacted Okonkwo whole thought. It seems like locust have come to Umuofia.

Lkemefuna was a young and well loved child. He was a like a foster child in a huge family. He grew to have a very close and desirable relationship with his master Okonkwo. Okonkwo felt like Lkemefuna was his very handsome and well grown son.
The council of Umuofia decided to kill Lkemefuna. Okonkwo felt like a sword just stabbed him in his giant heart. It was the most emotional scene in this novel. It was the furthest thought from my imagination that he would be killed. I believe that Lkemefuna deserved to live among the Umuofia citizens, and enjoy a happy and prospering life.

The officers of Umuofia went to arrest Lkemefuna so they can take him into the Forest and execute him. When the officers came to yield the young lad, the whole Okonkwo family felt the spirit of depression come over them. They really love Lkemefuna and only wished for the best for the young lad.
On the way to the Forest the officers were beating and mocking the young lad. Lkemefuna knew that his trip back to his original family would never come to past. He felt a horrible feeling inside him telling him this might be his very last trip. I can only imagine the thoughts that were running through the young lads lost mind. Eventually the officers hit lkemefuna with the deadly weapon, and the young lad ran fiercely to his foster father and Okonkwo killed Lkemefuna.
